Oxalis triangularis make beautiful houseplants, they're rewarding and truly interesting to watch grow and bloom. Their butterfly like leaves open in the day and close at night and quickly orientate themselves to face the sun. They produce lovely lilac flowers throughout the summer too. As a bulb this plant enters a dormant period, usually in the autumn, during which it's leaves will die off, but don't worry! Once you notice this happening leave the plant, don't water or feed it, and it will start to produce new shoot in 3 - 4 weeks. This cycle can be shorter or longer and continues over the winter.
Position in bright but indirect light, they can take some full sun. They're thirsty during the spring and summer but only water once the top soil has dried out to the touch, if it gets to soggy the bulb could rot.
