The Aloe Cosmo is a wonderfully low maintenance houseplant - all it needs is a bright spot and to be watered when the foliage starts to wrinkle.

Scientific Name: Aloe aristata 'Cosmo'
Origin: Northern Africa
Toxicity: Toxic to humans and animals.
Soil: A cacti or succulent potting mix.
Repotting: It's best to repot at the beginning of Spring when the plant has become rootbound - once every two years or so.
Propagation: These succulents can produce 'pups' that grow at the base of the plant - you can separate these out when repotting the mother plant.
Common problems: The foliage can become mushy if over watered and be sure to keep an eye out for mealy bugs and scale.
Care Tips: It's best to bottom water these plants - fill a tray with an inch or so of water, place the nursery pot in the tray and leave to soak until the soil on top feels damp.
Fun Fact: When they're happy these plants can produce beautiful orange-red flowers!
