 Venus Fly Trap

Scientific Name: Dionaea Muscipula

Family: Droseraceae

Origin: North & South Carolina

Toxic: Non-toxic to humans and animals.

Soil: Any cacti and succulent potting mix, or you can mix extra drainage materials into regular soil.

Repotting: It's best to repot at the beginning of Spring about once every two years.

Propagation: These aren't suitable for propagating at home.

Common problems: The moist conditions required by this plant can easily lead to fungal issues.

Care Tips: If you're struggling to maintain adequate temperatures and humidity, you can try growing this plant in a terrarium!

Fun Fact: These plants struggle to get enough nitrogen from the soil in their natural habitats, so they have evolved to get it from the insects they eat!

Please note these are general guidelines based on our experience with these plants - care should be altered based on individual home environments.
