Common Name:
 Ponytail Palm

Scientific Name: Nolina recurvata

Family: Nolinaceae

Origin: Central & South America

Toxicity: Non-toxic to humans and animals.

Soil: Standard potting soil mixed with perlite, or equivalent, for good drainage.

Repotting: It's best to repot at the beginning of Spring when the plant has become rootbound - once every two years or so.

Propagation: These plants can be produce pups as the base of their trunk - these can be separated when repotting the mother plant.

Common problems: Overwatering can cause yellowing and, conversely, underwatering can cause brown crispy leaves.

Care Tips: You can snip off any brown leaf tips if you want your plant to look a little neater.

Fun Fact: These plants are extremely drought tolerant as they can store a lot of water in their thick trunk!

Please note these are general guidelines based on our experience with these plants - care should be altered based on individual home environments.
