As with it's cousin, the Calathea, the Ctenanthe Lubbersiana belongs to the Marantaceae family and originates from Brazil. This stunning plant is easily identified by the vibrant lime green streaks on it's leaves.
This plant will need bright but indirect light to maintain it's variegation - too low of light and it can lose that gorgeous colour. Being from a tropical climate it requires warmer temperatures (average household should be fine) and higher humidity. This can be achieved by placing in a well lit bathroom or by misting the plant regularly. The Ctenanthe Lubbersiana does not like to dry out so water when you notice the topsoil is dry.
It is classified as non-toxic but can cause individual allergic reactions.
