As a desert dweller the iconic 'Cowboy cactus' is predictably easy to care for and requires very little attention. It looks great too, what's not to like.
Position where it'll get a good amount of direct sunlight and water once the soil has dried out, usually around once every 2 weeks in the summer, once a month in the winter. As with all cacti make sure it has good drainage and is never left to sit in water.
